The Frozen Flagpole

New to this site? Even if you're not, you may find the answers you're looking for by asking a question on the New? Start Here page. Go on, don't be shy. I'm all ears..

You know, I get guys that contact me, hear my prices and then decide to do things on their own. I try to warn them that experience is the best teacher and that of the problems they’ll face, I’ve been through probably 80% of them. The other 20% I simply avoid altogether.

But they don’t listen. They run off headstrong thinking they know all the answers (or would prefer to figure them out on their own). That’s all fine and dandy but most times they take years to accomplish what could be done in days. Or nickel and dimed their way into spending far more than they would have invested with me in the first place. Their way of doing things ignoring the content/context factor is a model of inefficiency.

And then not knowing it, bad habits start to form. Wasting money hopping from country to country making no network connections and losing out on opportunities that may have presented themselves otherwise. They’d rather f*ck than get paid. Short term pleasure at the expense of long term gain.

Next thing you know they get stuck in a rut:

And you know what’s the worst thing about getting stuck, right?

It’s getting UNstuck.

And that feeling you get correcting the errors you’ve made will feel about as painful and numb as separating your wet tongue from a frozen flagpole on a cold, winter afternoon.

So what’s the solution, Nada? Good question. Glad you asked.

Stop Problems Before They Start. Hire An Expat Coach.

Coaches can point out your errors before you make them and give you strategies that you may not have taken into consideration. Coaches can save you a lot of time, energy, money and give you peace of mind. An expat coach can make a world of difference than doing it all on your own–which is crucial if you’re thinking about a serious undertaking like international relocation.

You think the greatest golfer in the world, Tiger Woods doesn’t have a coach?

LOL, he has SEVERAL. And he pays his swing coach Hank Haney serious coin.

You think Tiger’s investment was worth it?

So if you want the best results possible, you have to have a coach. The investment will pay for itself in more ways than you could imagine. And you DO want the best results possible moving overseas to a foreign country, right?

Chew on that one, Pilgrim.
